Star Wars: Force Unleashed II TV Spots

And now for something completely different. With the release of Star Wars: Force Unleashed II today, here are two epic TV spots for the game. Jedi versus Sith: New Star Wars Game Trailer

Becloaked sith villian. Check. Wrist-mounted flamethrowers. Check. Epic saber battle. Check. The cinematic trailer for Bioware’s new Star Wars MMO has everything but the wookie’s pants. Sure, it may be more eye candy than anything close to approximating the final product, but I’m torqued.

Star Wars The Old Republic

The EE3 released trailer depicts the “Sacking of Coruscant” with Sith forces assaulting a Jedi Temple and setting the stage for the historical events within the game. Lucasarts may have long become known for pushing out substandard gaming titles, but with the developer behind spectacular RPG projects like Knights of the Old Republic, the Balder’s Gate series, and Mass Effect, this new online incarnation looks worth it. Set 4,000 years before the dual movie trilogy, players will be able to claim allegiance to either the Republic or Sith Empire, with story-driven content and archetypes unique to both factions. Encase me in frozen carbonite: I’m sold.

From the Star Wars: The Old Republic website: “Republic leaders have traveled to Alderaan to engage in promised peace talks with the Sith Empire. The most powerful Jedi have accompanied them to safeguard against an Imperial deception. The Empire’s real motive, however, was simply to lure the Republic’s strongest defenders away from Coruscant and set the stage for an audacious attack. Under the command of Lord Angral, the Sith fleet approaches the Republic’s capital planet for the first time in centuries. In advance of the fleet, the strongest Sith Warriors have flown a stolen Republic ship into Coruscant’s orbit. Their mission is critical – to destroy the planet’s defense grid mainframe hidden in the heart of the Jedi Temple.”
